The Construction Industry has a number of governing bodies and schemes to which we belong, please find details of the schemes below.

Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS)

The CSCS was set up to help the construction industry to improve quality and reduce accidents. CSCS cards are increasingly demanded as proof of occupational competence by contractors, public and private clients and others.

Construction Plant Competence Scheme (CPCS)

This is a card scheme to prove the skills of plant operators. It is the largest and most highly recognised card scheme for the plant industry. It helps to prove workers' operating skills and health and safety awareness. The Construction Plant Competence Scheme (CPCS) provides a single skills card for the plant sector of the construction industry.

The Street Works Qualifications Register (SWQR)

The Street Works Qualifications Register (SWQR)is maintained in Glasgow, at the invitation of the Department for Transport. The SWQR holds details of qualified supervisors and operatives who have gained the appropriate qualification in relation to the New Roads and Street Works Act 1991 (NRSWA). Awarding Bodies, appointed by the Government, work closely with the SWQR in order that each qualified supervisor or operative can be issued with a durable ID card (which can be produced on site if necessary) to show that he/she is in possession of the appropriate qualification.

Energy & Skills Utility Register (EUSR)

As the Sector Skills Council (SSC) for the electricity, gas, waste management and water industries, Energy & Utility Skills (EU Skills) operates an independent skills register which provides recognised standards for the utilities sector. Individuals who qualify for registration on the EUSR database are issued with a card and appear on our dedicated website. Employers and individuals have the opportunity to search the EUSR database via the website to confirm details of skills and training.

EUSR benefits both the employer and individual. An independently operated register confirms the skills and abilities of individuals when moving from company to company or industry to industry; whilst employers now have a robust mechanism to demonstrate the abilities of the workers who operate under their control.

We at Marsh Services have all relevant employees trained and accredited to the relevant bodies. Should you require any further information on these schemes you can follow the links below.
